Action for Children is a charity that provides help and support for young carers that are looking after a relative with a disability, illness, mental health condition, or drug or alcohol problem.
Research shows that as many as one in five children and young people are young carers and there are around 800,000 young carers aged 11-16 in England alone. Action for children ensures that young carers are able to enjoy a happy and safe childhood, providing advice and respite through short breaks, activities and the chance to connect with other young people like them.

Smiling Families is a Solihull-based charity providing opportunities for children who suffer illness or support parents that are suffering from illness a chance to be children and enjoy unique experiences.
Additional to fun days and events there are support systems to aid families and foster friendships with others who have been through similar experiences.
